He did his MBBS and MS from Institute of medical sciences Banaras Hindu university. He has done Fellowship in glaucoma from Aravind eye hospital Madurai. He has done Fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus from Dr Shroffs charity eye hospital Delhi. He has underwent Training in neurophthalmology and visual electrophysiology from Sankara nethralaya Chennai.
