Dr. Sunil G T is a fellowship-trained Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 25 years of clinical and surgical experience in ophthalmology, with a subspecialty focus on Glaucoma and Cataract–refractive surgery.
He completed his undergraduate medical training (MBBS) at Government Medical College, Trivandrum, Kerala, followed by postgraduate training in Ophthalmology (MS) at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Madras Medical College, Chennai, India. He subsequently pursued advanced subspecialty training through a Long-Term Fellowship in Glaucoma at the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad, one of the world’s leading eye care, research, and training institutions. During this fellowship (2002–2003), he was trained under internationally renowned glaucoma experts.
He further advanced his surgical expertise through a Sir Ratan Tata Fellowship in Basic and Advanced Cataract Surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Medical Research Foundation, Chennai, India, a premier tertiary eye care and academic institution.
Dr. Sunil is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS), Fellow International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and Fellow of the L V Prasad Eye Institute (FLVPEI). He is an active member of several national and international ophthalmic societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, World Glaucoma Association, European Glaucoma Society, Glaucoma Society of India and All India Ophthalmic Society. His professional interests include early detection of glaucoma and its comprehensive management to prevent further loss of existing vision, as well as to improve the quality of existing vision and glass independence by way of cataract-refractive procedures. He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centred ophthalmic care aligned with international standards.
