Dr Fareed Ahmad is our specialist ophthalmologist at Ahalia Eye Care. He specializes in cataract surgery including intraocular lens based solutions and refractive surgeries including Phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK), Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and LASIK. Dr Fareed has performed thousands of eye surgeries including cataract, pterygium with autograft, extraocular and refractive eye surgeries.

Dr Fareed has done his graduation (MBBS) from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & Hospital (JNMCH) from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He completed his training in ophthalmology (DOMS) from Aligarh Muslim University. He post graduated from ICARE Eye hospital and post graduate institute, Noida with Diplomate in National Board (DNB) from National Board of Education (NBE). He also cleared and passed all parts of the Internal Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) examination in first attempt. He super specialized in Topical Phacoemulsification and Refractive eye surgeries from Nethradhama superspeciality Eye Hospital, Bangalore and passed fellowship (FPRS) in first attempt from Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences (RGUHS). He also completed his Magistrate Chirurgie (M.Ch) in ophthalmology from University of Seychelles American Institute of Medicine (USAIM). He is also a Fellow of Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) London UK. He was also awarded with fellowship of International College of surgeons (FICS) headquartered in USA. He qualified for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS), in Ophthalmology. He has many paper publications in national journals. He has also authored chapters in books like “Cornea illustrated” and “Masters guide to manual SICS”. He also won the best video award in general interest titled “Over the Horizon” at APACRS annual meeting in Singapore in 2012. He is a lifetime member of DOS, AIOS, UPSOS, ISCKRS, ISMSICS, MNAMS, ICS, RSPH, RCS.

Prior to joining Ahalia Eye Care Dr Fareed worked in KIMS Al Shifa Hospital in Perinthalmanna, Kerala in 2016 where he was heading the eye department. He was consultant at Vasan Eye Care in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu from 2012 to 2016 during which time he was surgically managing various branches of Vasan. Prior to that he was working as a fellow and junior consultant in Nethradhama Super Specialty Eye Hospital in Bangalore 2012 which specializes in various kind of refractive surgeries. He was also a part of ICARE eye hospital and post graduate institute in Noida which does the maximum number of charitable surgeries in north india and is a premier institute in itself. He also worked in Apollo hospital from 2009 to 2012 as a junior consultant.
